Choose the airport bus for your actual Bengaluru address
Compare Vayu Vajra routes toward Majestic, Electronic City, HSR and south Bengaluru, then check your terminal, departure and final hotel connection.

Choose the airport bus that gets you near your actual Bengaluru address. Do not automatically take a bus to Majestic simply because it is a major city transport hub. A direct route toward your neighborhood can avoid a second cross-city journey with luggage.
BMTC’s airport services use KIA route numbers. The number and its suffix matter: a bus marked KIA-8 is not interchangeable with every KIA-8 variant. Show the conductor or airport bus-desk staff your hotel or building pin before boarding, and confirm the stop where you should leave the bus.
Start with these route families
The following is a shortlist for planning, not a live departure board. It uses the route endpoints in airportbus.in’s September 17, 2026 timetable report. That independent project links the underlying BMTC frequency chart on its source page.
| Your destination area | Route to investigate | What to check before boarding |
|---|---|---|
| Majestic / Kempegowda Bus Station | KIA-9 | Whether the central bus station is useful for your hotel or onward connection |
| Electronic City | KIA-8 | The exact stop and which side of the district your building is on |
| HSR Layout | KIA-7A, toward HSR BDA Complex | The distance from the actual bus stop to your accommodation |
| Bannerghatta Road / Royal Meenakshi Mall | KIA-14 | Whether your address lies near the route or needs another ride |
| Mysore Road Bus Station | KIA-10 | The onward connection from the bus station |
| Banashankari TTMC | KIA-5 | The correct stop for your part of south Bengaluru |
The published September report places KIA-8 on the Electronic City corridor via Central Silk Board and Marathahalli. Those names are useful when discussing your destination with the bus desk, but they do not mean the bus stops at every office campus or hotel nearby.
If you are headed to Whitefield, do not substitute “east Bengaluru” for a route check. Give staff the exact property or office campus and ask for the appropriate current route and stop. A familiar district name can conceal a substantial final journey.
Include the last leg in the decision
A bus makes most sense when it serves a stop you can use comfortably. Before committing, compare three things:
- The airport departure: how long you will wait for the right bus after you are ready to leave.
- The city stop: its actual location, rather than the route’s advertised final destination.
- The last leg: the walk or second ride from that stop to your door.
For example, a bus toward Electronic City may fit a work trip there better than KIA-9 to Majestic. Conversely, KIA-9 is a useful candidate when you need the central bus station itself. The choice should follow the address, rather than a general recommendation that every visitor travel through the same hub.
If the remaining walk involves luggage, an unfamiliar road crossing or a late arrival, price the onward ride before deciding that the bus is the better value. A group with several bags may prefer a direct car even when each bus ticket is cheaper.
Find the current boarding area at your terminal
Bengaluru airport has separate terminal transport arrangements. In its bus-hub announcement, the airport operator identified the Multi Modal Transport Hub near Terminal 2 as the start and end point for BMTC Vayu Vajra and KSRTC Flybus services, while retaining arrangements for Terminal 1 passengers.
Use the current BMTC / Vayu Vajra signs after arrival and confirm the boarding bay with staff. Do not walk to another terminal simply because an old guide gives a different pickup point. Terminal 1 bus-bay arrangements were still the subject of reported changes in February 2026, making a fixed bay number a poor thing to save months ahead.
Also check the operator and destination on the vehicle. A KSRTC Flybus and a BMTC city airport bus are different services; sharing a transport hub does not make their routes interchangeable.
Confirm departure, fare and terminal on the day
Timetables circulating online are not necessarily from the same revision. Use BMTC’s airport-services page or the airport bus desk to confirm the route you intend to take. Ask specifically for the next airport-to-city departure, since a chart may show departures in both directions.
This guide does not quote an exact fare or promise that your route runs all night. Confirm the fare to your stop and the accepted payment method before boarding. If the next suitable departure is too late, or the final connection is impractical, use a properly arranged door-to-door transfer.
For the return flight, confirm whether the bus calls at your departure terminal and build in time for road delays, terminal access and the airline’s check-in deadline. A published bus journey time is not a flight-connection guarantee.
